Villa Pajaro 10

Apulia

 / Ostuni

Description

PRIVATE STRUCTURE (RENT ONLY) – Sleeping in a traditional rural building like the pajara, preparing real Apulian orecchiette pasta and taking part in the olive harvest are just some of the activities we offer you to fully experience the magic of Apulia! Visiting the region, you will be enchanted by its architectural beauty and traditions which survived unchanged up to this day.
Only few places are as evocative as Villa Pajaro, in close contact with the nature of the Salento countryside with its characteristic red earth, dry stone walls that delimit the fields and enormous centennial olive trees. This elegant villa with swimming pool is located approximately 10 minutes from the town of Ostuni, also known as the ‘White City‘, famous for its sandy beaches and juniper-covered dunes. The property is in a perfect position between the Itria Valley and the overwhelming roads of the Salento area, ensuring a vacation among art, history and culinary traditions. After a careful and long renovation completed in 2024, the owners of this property have decided to use it to welcome all those guests who are looking for authentic experiences in the Apulian countryside in pure relaxation and comfort. The atmosphere inside the villa is a perfect embrace between past and present. The furnishings are made with eco-sustainable materials expertly combined with ceramic decorations and other productios of the best local laboratories, creating an elegant and fresh environment. The property, of approximately 15,000 square meters, is surrounded by a well-kept Mediterranean-style garden, where olive trees alternate with holm oaks. Here there are also areas where to enjoy unforgettable moments outdoors, including a large porch with sofas and braziers facing the pool and an outdoor kitchen equipped with a barbecue and a large stone table. The magnificent infinity pool in masonry has a comfortable entrance with steps that facilitate the entrance and faces a panoramic view of the large stretch of olive trees, perfect for enjoying spectacular sunsets. The property is entirely fenced-in with dry stone walls.

The villa, fully air conditioned, is in one level. The oldest part of the property, the so called pajara, is characterized by barrel-vaulted ceilings and consists of an open space with lounge, fully equipped kitchen and dining area. A corridor leads to the sleeping quarters where there is a service bathroom and three double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom with shower. The other two double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom with shower are located in the recent extension of the original structure, each of these with an independent entrance from the outside.

Events

8 km from the Adriatic coast, between the Torre Canne Natural Park north and Lamaforca beach south, lies Ostuni, at the south-eastern end of the Murge. Its historic center, rich in history and tradition, must be visited on foot to fully immerge yourself in its whiteness and admire all its architectural wonders. Among these, two buildings stand out: Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral and the Column of Saint Oronzo. To this saint, the patron saint of the city, it is also dedicated the famous Cavalcata di Sant’Oronzo every last weekend of August. In these days, it is possible to see a parade of horses and horsemen decked out in festive attire riding through the city streets. For sea lovers, Ostuni is about 12 km from the beautiful seaside of the Costa Merlata and the beaches of Torre Pozzella. Its coast alternates sandy shores with dunes to others with rocks immersed in the Mediterranean masquis. Given the strategic position, we recommend tours in the nearby Cisternina, perfect for those who love meat rolls in the traditional form of the bombette. For the tourists who want to get lost among the trulli and immerse themselves in these unmistakable Apulian homes, we recommend Alberobello, just 35 km away. Considered some of the most beautiful villages in Puglia, we suggest to include in the travel itinerary Cisternino (17.4 km) and Locorotondo (27 km). Indispensable during the stay, it is also to visit the farms and oil mills where it is possiblle to take part in gastronomic tours and taste Apulian specialties such as caciocavallo and mozzarella cheese, wines and olive oils.
