In the second half of July, the heart of the historic center of Corinaldo houses the ancient re-enactment of the Contessa del Pozzo della Polenta. The event celebrates the famous well that guaranteed the water reserve during the siege of the town. According to the legend, a farmer dropped a sack of cornmeal into the well which, by mixing with water, allowed local people to make polenta in the well. During the event, which includes several evenings, there are shows, street artists, flag-waving groups, games, renaissance costume parades and food stands. The historical re-enactment of the Trebbiatura in August includes the display of ancient and modern agricultural machinery. There are also photographic exhibitions, playing areas for children, music entertainment, food stands and guided tours. Every year since 1998, on the occasion of the Halloween celebrations, Corinaldo is transformed with fascinating sets and scary characters. It is a sort of autumn carnival with entertainment shows in the streets, themed taverns, music, fire shows and various attractions like the tunnel of fear and other frightening places.
We had a lovely time in your beautiful villa, the views were amazing and we managed to get up early to see the sunrise which was quite breathtaking !
It was a great location nestled away in the countryside but easy to get to the local town where there was a lovely bakery and other amenities. We even got to see a local jazz festival .
The Villa was clean and comfortable and the pool was wonderful to cool down in. We had a few extra requests which Mr El Mino, the caretaker was quick to respond to. He was always friendly and ready to answer any questions despite the language barrier, he even turned up with a big basket of homegrown tomatoes which were delicious!
We would absolutely love to visit again
Nous avons passé une semaine fantastique dans cette villa. L’endroit est paisible, la vue incroyable, la maison très fonctionnelle, et la piscine superbe. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir!
We had a wonderful week’s stay at La Capuccina. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable for us and our two teenage children. The photographs really do not do justice to how beautiful the villa and its surrounding gardens are. The villa is well furnished and the kitchen in particular is the best we have ever had in a holiday villa. The gardens are lovely, full of olives, figs, palms, myrtle and oleander. They are kept at their best by Mr Mino who gardens and cleans the pool a couple of times a week. He left us tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes and figs from the grounds. The pool is clean and just as lovely as it looks in the photos, with 8 comfortable loungers. The stand out feature for us however was the lovely big dining table set underneath a beautiful loggia outside the kitchen. The loggia is shady and surrounded by climbing flowering shrubs; the view out across the hills and valleys of Le Marche towards the coast is spectacular. A great villa and we hope to return.
