The National Festival of Befana in Urbania is one of the most popular events of this kind in Le Marche and Italy. During the days before Epiphany, the historic center of the city is enlivened by parades of befanas, shows, dances, food stands and the descent of the Befana from the Bell Tower at the end of each day. On the final day of the festival there’s an impressive fireworks display. In mid-September there is the food event Sagra del Crostolo, which is a local specialty based on flour, water, milk and lard, stuffed with cooked vegetables, meats and cheese. In the stands you can also taste Le Marche typical wines and craft beers. The event is accompanied by shows, music, games for children and a competition for the preparation of crostolo.Discover all the services

The villa and surroundings are even more beautiful than in the photos (and we have a fair amount of experience renting places for vacation). The pool was lovely with amazing views, while the house had four ample bedrooms and the same number of baths. Very comfortable for our family of four plus two grandparents. The kitchen and house were extremely well equipped. I have stayed at other places that skimped on basics like dish soap and toilet paper (funny for high end rentals!). Not the case here: everything was provided in ample supply. Most of all, though, it was just a stunning property, with gorgeous sunsets. As to the surroundings: there is a lot of natural beauty, and Urbino, 20 minutes away, is an important Renaissance cultural center. Otherwise, you have to drive a bit to see additional sites (an hour or so to beaches at Fano or Pesaro; about the same to amazing caves at Frasassi; I’m not certain but perhaps about the same to go to Sansepolcro for Piero della Francesca paintings). So plan to drive for excursions, but you’ll come home to an amazing home base. Urbania, the town down the hill, is sweet, with some fine dining options, as well as supermarket, butcher, and a few smaller sites to visit like the Palazzo Ducale and Chiesa sei Morti. Another sweet nearby town is Sant’Angelo in Vado. All in all, a highly recommended villa!
We rented this house last year and loved it so much so we returned again this year. Just as lovely as before! The view is stunning, the house is high quality, solid, beautiful, nicely decorated and has everything we need. It is beautifully situated on the hill with complete privacy, but still it just takes a few minutes to go to Urbania for groceries or ice cream, very convenient. We can highly recommend this house to others!
I stayed at the lovely villa diamante in september, and what a fantastic place it was , so well equipped and views were stunning pool was lovely , and a beautiful well layed out villa with beautiful furnishings , the kitchen is very well equipped , it is a holiday that i will never forget , there was six of us and we all felt the same, i would say yes you need a car and unless your used to trekking then no you would noit be able to walk into the local town of urbania, which was lovely too. i highly recommend the villa and would have no doubt in using dream holidays again, there customer service is really good. and nothing is too much trouble , thankyou so much for making my birthday so special.
Fantastic house and absolutely stunning views! We had high expectations but the reality was even better, this house is beautiful and the view makes you feel like you ended up in a movie. The house is comfortable and large and is equipped with everything we needed. There is a great little gym, the pool is large and deep and there are several lovely places for dining and chilling. The distance to the nearest grocery store is only a few minutes by car, and the little village of Urbania is very charming. We were 4 adults and 5 children and we all just loved this place, we never wanted to leave!
