Amalfi is the largest city of the Amalfi Coast and is a must destination for those who love art and culture as well as the sea. Both in the summer and winter there are many events, shows and concerts from jazz music to the classic tradition of Naples, up to the big names of the Italian song. Every four years, on the first Sunday of June, the Historical Regatta of the ancient Maritime Republics takes place between Amalfi, Pisa, Genoa and Venice. In August, the village of Pogerola organizes the Sagra della Zucca e della Zucchina, a festival dedicated to pumpkin which is the most characteristic product growing on terraces overlooking the sea. Pumpkins are cooked according to old recipes of the local tradition. The Byzantine New Year’s Eve is a historical-cultural event taking place in the month of September between Amalfi and Atrani, with the honouring of the Amalfi Duke and a series of concerts and guided tours around the city. The period before Christmas is full of evocative celebrations, nativity scenes set up in every corner of the city and even underwater inside the Emerald Grotto, that diving lovers should absolutely visit.Discover all the services
