Throughout the year Cagli is the setting of many courses, tasting in the beautiful historic buildings, theatre performances and special events relating to nature and food & wine traditions.
The Pipe festival born in 2000 has become an attractive and unmissable meeting for pipe smokers coming from all over Italy. You’ll find exhibitors, stands and international slow-smoking competitions! It usually takes place in late May. The most anticipated event is the historical Game of the Goose (Gioco dell’Oca o Palio storico) being held every year on the second Sunday of August through the streets of the historic centre. During the weekend there are Renaissance parades, flag wavers, fire shows, archers, crossbowmen and then on Sunday the classic game of the goose performed at the local Arena of Sant’Emidio. The four city quarters compete to win the iron goose, symbol of the Palio of Cagli. No shortage of taverns serving typical local dishes and dance till late at night. In the month of August, an evening entirely dedicated to music with the event Cagli delle Musiche. Among the streets, squares and characteristic corners of the historic center, live bands play different genres simultaneously creating a unique and suggestive atmosphere for the listeners. Meat lovers cannot miss the annual Barbecue party held in the town square in mid-June with food & wine stands and grilled meat, the unique protagonist of the event. Last but not least, the Good Friday Commemoration consisting of an evocative parade through the streets and squares of the town adorned for the occasion with fragrant flowers and petals.

Review of Apartment Acquamarina 8
Vi var sju personer från tre generationer som delade på en lägenhet under en vecka. Huset ligger fantastiskt till på toppen av ett berg med utsikt i alla riktningar över bergen och jordbruksmarkerna runt omkring. Den gamla jordbruksvillan innehåller fem lägenheter som har restaurerats till hög standard med bibehållen charm och orginladetaljer och det var väldigt trevligt att bo där. Vi bodde i en lägenhet med tre rum, tre badrum och gemensamt kök vilket gör det enkelt att bo flera tillsammans då alla kan gå in till sitt eget rum eller umgås i det gemensamma köket. Köket är utrutat med gasspis, kylskåp med frysfack, diskmaskin och har de mest grundläggande köksutrustningen så det går att laga mat till alla måltider. Det finns även tvättmaskin vilket är praktiskt. Utanför huset finns det tillgång till en midre pool i anslutning till huset som är till för gästerna och en större offentlig pool en bit bort som får användas gratis av gästerna i huset. Det finns ingen aircondition i huset, men eftersom det är svalare på berget och blåser så är det inget problem. Vägen till huset är brant och lång, mestadels av grus så det är lite omständigt att hitta fram första gången och guppigt att köra sista biten. Husets charm och dess underbara läge gör att det är ett underbart ställe att avnjuta en äkta italiensk semester. I närheten ligger två små städer där det finns ett rikligt utbud av restauranger, butiker och mataffärer. Ägarna är väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma samt gör allt för att du skall trivas!
